TOMORROW: CM Torres + Advocates Blast BOE for Setting Up Voters to Fail

Common Cause/NY, NYCLU NYIC, MinKwon, the Chinese-American Planning Council, and the Civic Engagement Table, join together to demand more poll sites and boroughwide centers for early voting locations

NEW YORK, NY (05/15/2019) (readMedia)-- On Thursday, Councilman Ritchie Torres, Common Cause/NY and advocates will join together to demand the NYCBOE stop setting New Yorkers up to fail in November and add more polling sites and boroughwide centers for early voting.

Earlier this month, the Board of Elections released the list of early voting locations in New York City for the November election. There are only 38 approved sites in New York City, which is only four more than required by state law and zero borough-wide voting centers.

In January, the New York State legislature passed - and Governor Cuomo signed into law - early voting, which gives voters 9 days before Election Day to vote.
