TU names Jess Chouteau Outstanding Seniors

TULSA, OK (10/03/2012)(readMedia)-- The University of Tulsa will present 10 students with the Jess Chouteau Outstanding Senior award during the university's 2012 Homecoming celebration, Oct. 18-21, on the TU campus.
The Jess Chouteau Outstanding Senior honor is granted to TU seniors who demonstrate exceptional achievement in both academic and service endeavors. No more than 10 seniors receive the award each year.
Requirements for the award include completion of 90 credit hours, at least 30 of which must be completed at TU; a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and involvement in campus and off-campus activities.
The TU 2012 Jess Chouteau Outstanding Seniors are: Claire Atkinson, Andrew S. Brooks, Audrey M. Buxton, Jennifer Daer, Taber J. Hunt, John Lepine, Sara Lewis, Rick Shipley, Shaliah DeNise Thierry and Jake Turner.
Below is biographical information for the Senior from your area:
Rick Shipley is the son of Scott and Amy Shipley of St. Louis, Mo. An electrical engineering major, Rick is executive director of the TU Student Association Information Services, president of the Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society, vice president of IEEE and peer minister of the Newman Center. He is a member of Mortar Board Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Honor Society and Eta Kappa Nu Honor Society. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the Newman Center and serves as a U.S. Secret Service student researcher. Upon graduation, Rick plans to earn a master's degree in electrical engineering and work in TU's nationally recognized Cyber Corps program.
