WALLA WALLA, WA (03/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Seth Dawson of Tacoma recently presented his research at a press conference at Whitman College on Thursday, Feb. 16.
Dawson was one of fifteen students participating in a research course at Whitman College called "The State of the State for Washington Latinos." Students in this course conducted academic and community-based research in one of five different areas related to the relationship between Walla Walla Latinos and their surrounding community.
His project, entitled "The History and Lessons of Latino under-Representation in Washington State," looked into the electoral histories of 10 of Walla Walla's surrounding counties to see whether or not minority voices are accurately represented.
Dawson, the son of Paul and Paula Dawson, is a 2008 graduate of Franklin Pierce High School. He is currently a senior politics and philosophy double major at Whitman.
