Tacoma native presents community-based research at conference

WALLA WALLA, WA (03/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Cynthia Ramos of Tacoma recently presented his research at a press conference at Whitman College on Thursday, Feb. 16.

Ramos was one of fifteen students participating in a research course at Whitman College called "The State of the State for Washington Latinos." Students in this course conducted academic and community-based research in one of five different areas related to the relationship between Walla Walla Latinos and their surrounding community.

Her project looked into how effective the ELL program is in Walla Walla Public Schools.

Ramos, the daughter of Rene and Veronica Ramos, is a 2010 graduate of Henry Foss High School. She is currently a sophomore sociology major at Whitman.
