Taylor Price Chopper Hosts Community Safety Day

Saturday, May 2nd starting at 10am till 4pm, 1510 S. Main Ave., Scranton Price Chopper. Customers and children can enjoy a day of fun and education

  • Taylor Mayor, Police Department, Fire Department, and k-9 unit will be there taking names and address for a free smoke detector.
  • Scranton Fire department will be taking names and address for free smoke detectors as well. We will also have the "HOUSE OF SMOKE" for the family to see and feel what it is like to experience a fire.
  • Scranton Police department, McGruff the crime dog and D.A.R.E. car with Darin the Lion will be present.
  • Officer Joseph Kearney will be doing finger printing for the children ages 12 and under.
  • Lackawanna County Career Technology Center will be doing Caricature drawing of children 12 and under. The LPN program will be doing blood pressure screening and diabetes testing.
  • Pennsylvania State Police will be giving free gun locks, and information on drugs and internet safety.
  • Pa. State Fire Marshall will be present with handouts.
  • The Lackawanna Humane Society will be here giving safety classes for your pets.
  • State Representative Kevin Murphy will be giving free bicycle helmets to children (limited quantity) at 2pm.
  • The General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard will be here for photos. ( Bring your camera)
  • Price Choppers Ellie Wilson Health U will be here from noon till 4 pm, Giving information on the NuVal program.
  • Price Chopper will also have a food tent with all proceeds going to our Guest of honor.
  • A Silent Auction with baskets and gifts from Price Chopper Associates and Vender's, Pepsi is donating for the auction a ( one of a kind Lionel Train set with papers of authenticity) and much, much, more....

The GUEST OF HONOR WILL BE THE RONALD McDONALD HOUSE OF LACKAWWANA COUNTY. All proceeds will be donated to our local Ronald McDonald House and Round McDonald will be present from 12: pm till 3: pm for photos with the kids ( Bring your Camera).
