The Oglethorpe University Women's Basketball team saw another accolade roll in for their outstanding Spring 2020 season. The Stormy Petrels saw junior guard Taylor Smith receive a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America honorable mention.
Smith proved to be one of the SAA's breakout stars prior to sustaining a season-ending injury during the final game of the regular season. She finished the season in the top 150 in offensive rebounding in Division III, posting 3.1 per game. She also finished in the top 200 in field goal percentage, tallying a 42.9 percent success rate. Those numbers put her second and sixth in the conference, respectively. In addition, Smith averaged 13.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. Smith, also, earned All-SAA second-team honors in early March for her efforts.
