CHICOPEE, MA (01/27/2010)(readMedia)-- Elms College freshman swimmer Tessa Dudunake of Northampton, Massachusetts was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week as recently announced by the organization.
Dudunake helped the Blazers to three wins during the week of Jan. 18-24 thanks to five total first place finishes.
Against Western New England College (WNEC) on Jan. 19 at Partyka Natatorium, Dudunake swept all three events she was in, clocking a time of 2:41.15 in the 200-meet individual medley, a 29.82 in the 50-meter freestyle, and a 1:15.63 in the 100-meter IM.
Elms earned a pair of victories over Gordon College and Norwich University in tri-meet action on Jan. 23 behind two top finishes from Dudunake. She notched a 33.85 in the 50-yard breaststroke, and glided to a 1:07.63 in the 100-yard IM. Dudunake also placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:14.72.
This is Dudunake's third GNAC Rookie of the Week award of the season.
