The Business Council Supports Opposition to New York City Mandatory Sick Leave Measure
ALBANY, NY (05/07/2013)(readMedia)-- The Business Council of New York State, Inc. continues to oppose mandating private employers in the City of New York to provide paid and unpaid sick time. It is an unnecessary interference in the employer-employee relationship and an inappropriate meddling into the collective bargaining process. This new mandate will do nothing to encourage the creation of new jobs in New York City and will discourage small business growth with its low thresholds.
This link will take you to testimony Tom Minnick, director, Center for Human Resources at The Business Council, gave before the New York City Council Committee on Civil Service and Labor, March 22, 2013.
