The Business Council hosts 2013 Annual – Industry Environment Conference

ALBANY, NY (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- The Business Council of New York State, Inc. will host its 2013 Annual Industry-Environment Conference, October 16 ? 18, 2013 at The Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The two-day conference will focus on topics such as developments in energy transmission, climate resiliency, vermiculate and asbestos, and include updates from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Special sessions will focus on how climate conditions impact energy production and transmission and local solutions to address the need for affordable energy.

Brian Conybeare, special advisor to the Governor for the Tappan Zee Bridge, will deliver the keynote address.

Other notable speakers include Diane Burman, commissioner, New York State Public Service Commission; Katherine Kennedy, clean energy counsel, NRDC; and Jerry Kremer, chairman, NY AREA.

For more than 35 years, The Council's Annual – Industry Environment Conference has provided a forum for private and public sectors to meet and discuss state regulatory issues, environmental laws and regulations, compliance strategies, and strategic planning.

The Business Council's Environmental Committee Chairman's Award will also be presented at the event, on October 17, 2013. The award recognizes a specific project, developed by an individual, organization, or business, that demonstrated a notable contribution in conserving resources, protecting and enhancing our environment, or developing innovative approaches to environmental challenges.
