NEW YORK, NY (09/15/2023) (readMedia)-- On Monday, The New York Climate Exchange ("The Exchange") will host a NYC Climate Week Panel: Advancing Coastal Resiliency. The Exchange - a first-of-its kind collaborative model for accelerating climate solutions that will live on Governors Island - is bringing together experts, innovators, and community members for an exciting and much needed discussion focused on advancing coastal resiliency in New York City. Participating organizations include the Waterfront Alliance, IBM, the Columbia Urban Design Program, and the Earthlab at the University of Washington. The event will begin with keynote remarks from Clare Newman, President & CEO of The Trust for Governors Island, and Cathy Dove, Acting Executive Director of The New York Climate Exchange, followed by the panel discussion, and concluded with a networking reception and optional tour of The Exchange's grounds on Governors Island.

The Exchange launched earlier this spring, as a first-of-its kind international model for developing and deploying dynamic solutions to our global climate crisis, while also acting as a hub for New York's evolving green economy. The Exchange is made up of a partner network that includes interdisciplinary academic researchers, educators, business leaders, community organizations and decision-makers, including the top minds in climate science, environmental justice, and policy development and implementation. Powered by its strong partnerships and future home on Governors Island, The Exchange will use education, research, an innovation hub, job training, and public programs to prepare communities to respond to climate challenges.
