This Sunday, November 21 – Fight For Air Climb in New York City

NEW YORK, NY (11/19/2010)(readMedia)-- Join the American Lung Association in New York to climb One World Financial Center and help make a difference in the fight for healthy lungs and clean air!

WHO: American Lung Association in New York

WHAT: 2010 Fight for Air Climb. Hundreds of people are registered to climb the 850 steps of One World Financial Center including several teams of firefighters who will be climbing dressed in full gear.

WHEN: Sunday, November 21. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. Climb starts at 10 a.m.

WHERE: 1 World Financial Center, 200 Liberty Street, Southernmost Tower New York, NY

WHY: In New York, an estimated 2.5 million people suffer from lung diseases including asthma, lung cancer, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The proceeds from the Fight for Air Climb will support the American Lung Association in New York's research, education and advocacy programs.

COST: Registration for climbers is $50. Registration for the Firefighter's Challenge is $25 and free for the first 100 firefighters who register. A minimum donation of $250 is required to climb.

Note to editors: There will be opportunities to film and photograph climbers and firefighters ascending the building. Spokespersons from the Lung Association will also be on site as will families with asthma and lung disease, and corporate teams committed to the fight for healthy lungs and clean air.
