Tierra Farm Store set to open doors on Earth Day

Flagship shop offering coffee laboratory Free Coffee –Free Movie- Free Music

ALBANY, NY (04/21/2014)(readMedia)-- Tierra Farm, a national wholesaler of nuts, dried fruits, chocolate, and coffee is set to open a flagship store at 1034 Madison Avenue on April 22nd - Earth Day, from 2pm to 6pm.

"We will be featuring all of our 200 plus organic and fair trade products including a section dedicated to the finest brewing methods available to woman or man," said Darren Grout, Tierra Farm's CEO. "This section will be deemed the coffee laboratory, and will be a one of a kind lab dedicated to teaching the best ways to brew coffee."

The store opening will coincide with Earth Day, sharing not only the date but the mission of environmental stewardship. The store will be housed in the same complex that houses the Madison Theatre and Tierra Coffee Roasters both owned and operated by Tierra Farm.

The Festivities will run from 2pm to 6pm including a free showing of the movie Earth at the Madison Theater, free Coffee at Tierra Coffee Roasters and Free Live Music provided by Jonathon Newell, Mary Leigh Roohah and DJ Matt. There will also be an art exhibit by Randall Schmit.

The new store will feature an array of Tierra Farm Products including certified organic nut butters, chocolate covered nuts and fruits, roasted and raw nuts, and dried fruit and coffee. All of the products are manufactured at the Tierra Farm facility in Valatie NY.

"We are excited to have a platform to sell directly to the public without the middle man. In many cases we deal directly with farmers to buy raw products, add value at our facility, and then sell directly to the public. It makes it fair for everybody; with higher prices to the grower and processor and lower prices to the consumer. We have had a successful model with our retail store in Valatie, and this Pine Hills based, community inspired location is something we always wanted," said Grout.

"Tierra Farm has always enjoyed the support of the Capital District community and this event surrounding our grand opening is our way to give back to those that have supported us. We look forward to seeing old friends and new at this celebration," concluded Grout.
