Known for its innovation in product development and meeting the needs of its clients, Transfinder has had increasing growth since its inception and has become a recognized national leader in the industry. Petruccione's addition to the executive team adds momentum to the company's achieving its goal of 2,010 clients by 2010.
A life long resident of the Capital Region, Petruccione graduated from Bishop Scully High School in Amsterdam in 1983. He then went on to attend Union College in Schenectady for two years and transferred to Siena College in Latham where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1987. During his college career Pete was a member of the ROTC in preparation to becoming an Officer in the Navy for immediate duty upon graduation.
He returned from the Navy in 1993 and began to work with an organization overseen by the New York Science and Technology Foundation. There, Pete worked as a Product Manager working on a software application that would help modernize manufacturing companies in New York State. In 1995 he joined MapInfo where he helped to launch new products designed for development and Internet use. There, he also cultivated new partnerships with several large software companies, including Oracle.
After nine successful years with MapInfo, he continued to work in sales with several smaller local software businesses; he also led a startup company to provide workflow automation to the biotechnology industry, which would help facilitate the development of new pharmaceutical drugs.
Petruccione resides in Saratoga Springs with his wife, Dawn, and their three children, Emily, Matt and Mara. His oldest daughter, Mara, attends Northeastern University, while Emily and Matt attend Saratoga Springs High School and Bishop Maginn respectively.
