DELHI, NY (06/16/2010)(readMedia)-- July 10-11 weekend will offer residents and visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy Treadwell's 15th Stagecoach Run Festival. The self-guided tour, open the 10th and 11th of July, will offer art, demonstrations, and workshops to the public. On view from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m both days will be the work of more than thirty professional artists, at sites located in the hamlets of Treadwell. a. Their studios, homes, and galleries will feature art--and also literature--in abundance. For seasoned or new collectors, first time buyers, or people curious to learn more while enjoying beautiful surroundings, the festival offers chances to buy original art, as well as to gain insight into the lives of artists and the places where art is made.
The festival is free, and during its run artists are on hand to talk with visitors. The scope of the work on view is broad; one can see paintings rendered in oil, egg tempera, or watercolor. Works on paper include wood engraving, collage, pen and ink, etching, and pieces using other techniques. Sculpture represents an integral part of the exhibition, as does photography and high quality artists' books. Regardless of media, the festival extends a lively and engaging day tour that visitors tailor to their own pace, following the point-to-point maps and the numbered yellow signs.
