Treadwell Tax-Cut Express to Hit the Road for 72-Hour District-wide Tour

Former Governor George Pataki to participate in Kick-off Event in Halfmoon

HALFMOON, NY (10/31/2008)(readMedia)-- Congressional candidate Sandy Treadwell and his wife Libby will step into the Treadwell Tax-Cut Express Friday evening to begin a 72-hour tour of the 20th Congressional District that will include stops in local communities in all 10 counties of the district. They will be joined on the first leg of the trip into Columbia and Dutchess counties by former New York Governor George Pataki.

The tour will be launched at a "Start your engines" Kickoff at Treadwell's Halfmoon Headquarters at the Shoppes at Halfmoon, 1707 Route 9 in Halfmoon at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008.

"Grassroots politics is all about local communities and I am looking forward to this road trip, which will give me the chance to meet people in their hometowns at neighborhood coffee shops, diners, and other local venues," Treadwell said. "I will be traveling all day and throughout the night to reach out to residents, shake hands, say hello, and talk about the issues that concern them."

More than 220 miles in length, the 20th Congressional District covers an immense geographic area. Treadwell and company will be traveling in an RV, which the candidate says "is the best way to keep us moving, meeting people, and gaining momentum for Election Day."

Over the past 22 months, Treadwell has logged over 72,000 miles on his car campaigning, traveling to all 10 counties of the district countless times to talk to families, farmers, veterans, local officials, and business leaders.

The Treadwells will be joined by local elected officials, community leaders and supporters throughout the district. The Treadwell's two Weimaraners, Monkey and Wilson, also will be on the tour.

A schedule of planned tour stops is below (unscheduled stops will also be made).

Media is invited to attend the kickoff party or meet the Express at a local stop in their community.
