HOUGHTON, MI (06/04/2013)(readMedia)-- The Women's Leadership Institute (WLI) at Michigan Technological University is designed for high school juniors and helps young women discover and develop traits to grow as leaders.
Among those chosen to attend this year was Danielle Daves, a junior at West Michigan Aviation Academy. Danielle is the daughter of Tony and Denise Daves of Twin Lake.
The WLI features interactive programming to help students develop a leadership vision and life goals and connect those goals to choosing a major and college. WLI also assists women in better understanding personal integrity and values and developing skills to begin to make a difference in the lives of others.
WLI participants meet others from across the state and region, experience residence hall life, and interact with Michigan Tech student mentors.
