ALBANY, NY (02/10/2009)(readMedia)-- One fortunate credit union member from Ulster FCU was thrilled to learn that she would not have to pay for purchases she bought with her debit card during the recent holiday season thanks to Covera Card Solutions' 2008 Advantages credit and debit card promotion.

Rebecca Toolan of Kingston was chosen to receive reimbursement for her debit transactions between November 21 and December 24, 2008 up to $5,000. The award follows a promotion in which anyone using a participating credit unions' credit or debit card during that time period would automatically be entered in the drawing for the Holidays on Us prize. Covera reported that Toolan's transaction was drawn from a field of 440,743.

"The entire Ulster FCU family would like to extend our congratulations to Rebecca," said Rick Mantey, CEO of Ulster FCU. "Promotions like this are very useful in helping us promote our credit union's card programs. That the lucky winner of the sweepstakes was one of our members made it all that much better," he added.

The Advantages campaign promotion was launched April 1 and ran through January 2009. It was created by incite! Marketing, Covera's marketing arm, to raise awareness of credit and debit card programs at Covera's client credit unions. Participants were provided with a variety of free marketing materials for both their credit and debit programs. The drawing was open to all members from participating credit unions.

"In addition to the grand prize, one credit and/or debit transaction from each participating credit union will be selected for a reimbursement up to $300," shared Kimberly McCumber-Ploof, chief operating officer of Covera Card Solutions at the check presentation. "We thought the program incentives were a fun way to help our credit unions promote the use of their credit and debit card programs to their members."
