Voter Registration Deadline Today for 2013 Primary Election
ALBANY, NY (08/16/2013)(readMedia)-- The State Board of Elections today reminds all state residents to register to vote for the September 10, 2013 primary elections. Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight, August 16th and received by a board of elections no later than August 21st to be valid for the upcoming primary election. The voter registration form can be downloaded from our website: www.elections.ny.gov. If you have an established account at the Department of Motor Vehicles you may register online. You can also register or find forms at most state and federal government offices.
Residents who have moved to a new county are reminded that they must re-register from their new address. Those who are currently registered and have moved to a new address in the same county should notify their county board of elections in writing of their move.
Persons who are unsure whether they are registered, or wish to verify their current address, may look-up their status at our website: www.elections.ny.gov.
Persons wanting to register in person may do so at their county board of elections and at many state agency offices throughout the state, but must do so no later than August 16th, to be eligible to vote in the primary.
Requests for registration forms may also be made by calling 1-800-FOR-VOTE. Requests will be processed and the forms mailed to the caller's home or business address.
