Voter Registration Deadline Nears for 2019 Primary Election

ALBANY, NY (05/28/2019) (readMedia)-- The State Board of Elections today reminds all state residents that the deadline to register to vote for the June 25, 2019, primary election is May 31, 2019. Mail-in voter registration forms must be postmarked by midnight, May 31st and received by a board of elections no later than June 5, 2019 to be valid for the upcoming Primary election.

New Yorkers wanting to register in-person may do so at their county boards of elections but must do so no later than May 31, 2019. You may also register at the Department of Motor Vehicles website (MyDMV) no later than May 31, as long as you have a NYS Drivers License, non-driver ID Card or Learner's Permit.

The voter registration form can be downloaded from our website: www.elections.ny.gov. You can also register or find forms at most state and federal government offices including your local public library and post office.

If you are 17 years old and you will be 18 before the end of the calendar year, you can pre-register now. You will be eligible to vote in any election that occurs on or after your 18th birthday.
