WAMC Northeast Public Radio Launches New Weekly Series, "Moyers & Company"

ALBANY, NY (01/17/2012)(readMedia)-- WAMC / Northeast Public Radio will begin broadcasting a new radio series by Bill Moyers. Moyers & Company will debut on Friday, January 20th at 2pm. This hour-long, weekly series with veteran journalist Bill Moyers will offer smart insight into issues that matter to America . The new series begins with three broadcasts exploring how America's gross inequality is no accident, but was in fact "politically engineered."

"There is no bigger hero at WAMC than Bill Moyers," says WAMC President and CEO Alan Chartock, "He's always been there for us, and we can't believe how lucky we are to have this wonderful program added to our schedule."

Moyers & Company will explore some of the defining issues of the day, including relevant insight from novelists, poets, and artists, scientists and philosophers, and leading scholars. Among those scheduled to appear are noted political scientists, Jacob Hacker and Paul Pierson; business man and investor, David Stockman; former Citigroup Chairman, John Reed; former Poet Laureate of the United States Rita Dove; social psychologist Jonathan Haidt; the influential editor of Poetry Magazine, Christian Wiman and more. The broadcast will also feature regular political analysis from many of the people Moyers has called on over the years to interpret life in America, as well as new voices in the dialogue of democracy.
