ALBANY, NY (04/09/2010)(readMedia)-- WAMC Northeast Public Radio recently won two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. The awards are in two categories: Audio News Documentary: A Conversation with Arlo Guthrie, hosted by Alan Chartock and produced by Ian Pickus, and Audio Newscast: Northeast Report: Obama's Inauguration, produced by the WAMC News Department.
"WAMC has a long history of awards. These two Murrow honors are particularly important to us. Not so much for the prestige, but more as a way to encourage our wonderful news division to reach for higher and higher achievement," Alan Chartock, President and CEO of WAMC Northeast Public Radio, said.
The regional award winners advance to the national competition, whose winners will be announced in June.
