A team of Walsh University students volunteered to spend their 2015 Spring Break vacation serving those less fortunate in the poorest areas of Appalachia in West Virginia. Organized by Walsh's Office of Campus Ministry, volunteer activities included basic home repairs, interaction with residents and preparing meals for both volunteers and the families they serve.
The group of 16 students were led by Campus Minister for Residence Life Outreach Dominica Rhein and Campus Minister Elizabeth Erickson. The Walsh students dedicated their Spring Break to volunteer at two Catholic communities in rural West Virginia, Nazareth and Bethlehem Farms, which offer transformative service experiences in a retreat setting.
