Westbound Lane Restrictions Scheduled This Weekend Between Butler Valley and Warrendale Interchanges

NEW STANTON, PA (10/20/2010)(readMedia)-- Motorists traveling westbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mainline will encounter a single-lane pattern between the Butler Valley Interchange (Exit 39) and the Warrendale Toll Plaza (Exit 31). Weather permitting; the single-lane pattern between Mileposts 38.5 and 35 westbound will be in effect from 8 p.m. Fri., Oct. 22 until 10 a.m., Sun., Oct. 24.

The restriction is needed as part of the MP 31 to 38 total reconstruction project. The general contractor, Joseph B. Fay, will be performing construction activities, including temporary barrier movement and line painting associated with a traffic stage switch between Milepost 38.5 and 35 westbound. Once the contractor begins work the patterns must stay in effect until all work is completed.

Motorist should be aware of the potential for delays during the afternoon and early evening hours for this 38 hour period.

Message boards and Highway Advisory Radio (1640 AM) messages will be used inform customers of the restriction.
