SPRINGFIELD, IL (07/20/2017) (readMedia)-- Lucas Konecny of Woodstock, Illinois, a human resources assistant with Joint Force Headquarters, Illinois National Guard, was promoted to sergeant during a ceremony at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois, July 18.

Konecny's wife Jana and infant daughter Ayla assisted in the ceremony by applying the new rank to his uniform.

Konecny is a 2009 graduate of Woodstock High School in Woodstock, Illinois. He enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in 2014 following a three-year enlistment as an infantryman on active duty.
