Yonalvy Acosta Of Holyoke, Massachusetts Garners NECC Player of the Week Honors

CHICOPEE, MA (02/08/2010)(readMedia)-- Elms College sophomore outside hitter Yonalvy Acosta of Holyoke, Massachusetts earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) men's volleyball player of the week honors for the week of Feb. 1-7 as announced by the league office on Monday.

Acosta smashed 19 kills, added six digs and amassed four total blocks (1 solo, 3 assisted). He registered a .500 attack percentage with only two errors, helping the Blazers to a 3-0 sweep of Southern Vermont College on Feb. 6. This is Acosta's first weekly honor of the season.
