DES MOINES, IA (08/18/2023) (readMedia)-- Addison Spencer of Stanton won First and Second Place Overall and a total of $250 in gift card in the Fleet Farm Fresh Preserving for Youth competition judged Tuesday, August 8, prior to the start of the 2023 Iowa State Fair.
Brooklynn Sedlock of Indianola earned Third Place Overall and a $50 gift card.
Sedlock and Spencer also tied for the Sweepstakes award.
Entries were judges on flavor, consistency, appearance and food safety.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 138 divisions, 695 classes and over 6,800 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
