Zeldin Statement on Selection of Palin as McCain Running Mate

PATCHOGUE, NY (08/29/2008)(readMedia)-- Today, Republican and Conservative Party candidate for Congress, Lee Zeldin, issued the following statement on the selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as Senator John McCain's running mate:

"I am honored to join the McCain-Palin ticket in New York's First Congressional District.

Governor Palin, as a grounded, principled and energetic leader, is the perfect selection by Senator John McCain. She understands the plight of union members, she is one of the most fiscally responsible Governors in our nation, and she is a dedicated mother. Her small-town roots allow her to relate to the hard working, blue collar middle class Long Islanders and Americans who deserve better representation in Washington.

Her vast expertise in relation to our nation's energy crisis makes her the perfect balance for a Congress that prefers 5 week vacations over energy reform. As I will fight hard to do as a member of Congress, Governor Palin is fully capable of making our nation energy independent."
