Street Made Clothing Company Donates to Illinois Military Family Relief Fund

SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/10/2011)(readMedia)-- Street Made donated $1,100 to the Illinois National Guard's Illinois Military Family Relief Fund Feb. 10 at Camp Lincoln in Springfield.
Shane Teater of Sacramento, Calif., owner of the Street Made apparel line and Caleb Miller of Springfield, a Street Made representative, sponsored a viewing event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) match featuring Matt Mitrione, also a Springfield native, Jan. 22. at Catch 22 in Springfield to raise money for therelief fund.
The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund provides grants to Illinois National Guard members and Illinois residents who are members of the military or direct family members of servicemembers who have deployed in support of operations directly related to the Sept.11 terrorist attacks.
"Supporting our military members and the organizations that support their families is constantly necessary due to the sacrifices they make for our freedom," said Teater, once a Springfield native and Sacred Heart Griffin graduate.
Teater, a former Airman with the Illinois Air National Guard's 183rd Fighter Wing and Miller a strong military supporter, chose to donate to the fund to help support local servicemembers serving in the Illinois National Guard.
"It's a great thing to see a 183rd alumni to still support the Illinois National Guard after hanging up his uniform," said Brig. Gen. James Schroeder, the Illinois National Guard's Assistant Adjutant General – Air. "His company helped raise a donation to our relief fund and that goes a long way to show support for the troops."
Since 9/11, the Illinois Military Family Relief Fund has disbursed more than $12 million to more than 22,000 eligible members of the National Guard, Reserve and active components for their service to our nation. The Illinois Military Family Relief Fund is funded through individual and corporate donations, State Income Tax check-off donations and from the Illinois General Revenue Fund.
