2010 Mark of Excellence Call for Entries

ALBANY, NY (04/08/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association has issued its call for entries for the Sixteenth Annual Mark of Excellence Awards.

This year's competition, which will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the Albany Crowne Plaza, will recognize highly effective marketing campaigns and initiatives from all-sized companies, agencies, organizations and educational institutions within the Capital Region during 2008 and 2009.

"The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association is excited to bring back the awards portion of the Mark of Excellence, and we expect this to be one of the most competitive years yet," said Teal Vivacqua, co-chair of the 2010 Committee. "Recognizing results-driven marketing and the talented individuals behind the innovative campaigns is really what this event is all about."

In addition to recognizing outstanding marketing campaigns executed over the past two years, Mark of Excellence recognizes the "Marketer of Excellence," one individual whose marketing efforts have had a tremendous effect on the Capital Region. Previous years' recipients include: Elmer Streeter, Director of Corporate Communications at St. Peter's Hospital; Kristen Frederick, former President and CEO of the Community Foundation for the Capital Region; Alan Chartock, President and CEO of WAMC/Northeast Public Radio; Robert Provost, former Marketing Director of the Times Union; Kelly Lovell, former President and CEO of the Center for Economic Growth; and Lyn Taylor, former President of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce.

"Marketers throughout the Capital Region look forward to our Mark of Excellence Awards each year," said Cynthia Nagle, NYCRAMA president. "Entrants showcase their very best work, and everyone benefits from seeing marketing that gets results. The event promises to be better than ever in 2010 – with two years of entries eligible, we'll have a terrific contest."

The Call for Entries deadline is Monday, May 3, 2010. The entry form can be found at www.nymarketing.org/moe. Please submit all entries to moe2010@nymarketing.org. Entries are judged by marketing executives from around the nation and will be chosen based on the campaign's results.
