2010 Tech Valley Patent Indices Annual Report

ALBANY, NY (01/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Hoffman Warnick LLC (HW), an intellectual property law firm based in Albany, NY, has released the 2010 Tech Valley Patent Indices Annual Report. The "Tech Valley Patent Indices Annual Report" includes data for: the Capital Region (Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga and Rensselaer counties), Tech Valley, Tech Valley without IBM and GE, and the Capital Region without GE.

With regard to the 2010 Annual Report, all of the indices have tracked the national numbers, which have reached record highs under the Patent Office's new management. Capital Region patenting has driven the Tech Valley, Tech Valley without GE and IBM, and the Capital Region without GE patent indices ALL to an immense record quarterly average of issued patents. More amazingly, all of the indices are at record highs for total number of issued patents across the year. Both the quarterly average and total number of issued patents have continued to rise over the 9 years that we have done the index.
