FIVE INDUCTEES ANNOUNCED FOR THIRD ANNUAL NYS DISABILITY RIGHTS HALL OF FAME
ALBANY, NY (01/29/2020) (readMedia)-- ALBANY, NY 1/29/2020 – The New York State Independent Living Council (NYSILC) Disability Rights Hall of Fame selection committee is pleased to announce the following inductees to the 2020 NYS Disability Rights Hall of Fame:
Robert Gumson
Edith Prentiss
Susan Scheer
Melvyn Tanzman
James Weisman
The five inductees will be honored in a ceremony and dinner on the evening of Thursday, May 28, 2020 at the Albany Marriott on Wolf Road in Colonie, NY.
"Our disability community is blessed with considerable talent," said Brad Williams, Executive Director of the New York State Independent Living Council (NYSILC). "Each class of inductees builds upon the efforts and accomplishments of the last to demonstrate the positive impact they've had on society."

The NYS Disability Rights Hall of Fame is a program of the New York State Independent Living Council, Inc. (NYSILC). NYSILC is an independent, nonprofit state council, looking to promote independent living for people with disabilities across New York State. The council's primary responsibility is to work with state partners to develop, monitor, and evaluate New York's three-year Statewide Plan for Independent Living (SPIL).
