WASHINGTON, DC (11/18/2011)(readMedia)-- "The Band of the Nation's Capital" returns to the College of Southern Maryland, LaPlata Campus Saturday December 3, 2011 at 7 p.m.. Pack the family and prepare for a spirited and uplifting night of holiday classics and seasonal melodies.
A special invitation is extended to area veterans and those currently serving in our Armed Forces. The band always pays special tribute to the dedication and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform.

WHAT: | Pack the family and prepare for a spirited and uplifting night of holiday classics and seasonal melodies. The commander, Chief Warrant Officer Sheila M. Klotz, assembled a program sure to entertain and inspire audience members of all ages. A highlight of the night is an acoustic feature by the band’s newest vocalist Sgt. Daren Taylor, who will be joined by Sgt. Vicki Golding. The evening also features the piccolo and tuba in a “musical snowball fight”. You’ll enjoy standard holiday selections and a Barber Shop Quartet performing the 12-Days of Christmas singing about the idiosyncrasies of the Southern Maryland area. Sgt. First Class Sheila Nevius is the featured instrumental soloist as she performs a crowd favorite “A Yuletide Rhapsody”.
