A Day in the Life of the Alabama National Guard.

Huntsville, AL (03/21/2016)-- The Alabama Army National Guard will host a recruiting event in Huntsville at the Alabama National Guard Redstone Training Site to display equipment and help inform high school students about the opportunities and benefits of becoming a member of the Alabama National Guard. Over a two day period, students from five Madison County High Schools will attend this event to learn about the available career fields in the Alabama National Guard, funding available to help them pay for college and the many other benefits to becoming a member of the Alabama National Guard. The event is being sponsored by the AL NG 31st CBRN Brigade and the 22nd Recruiting and Retention Battalion. There will be equipment displays from several Alabama Army National Guard units across the state. The event will be held over a two day period and provide approximately 500 students with AL National Guard career information.

NOTES: This event is not open to the general public, only Madison County High School Students and parents, but we encourage media to attend. Media who wish to attend this event should email the Alabama National Guard public affairs office NO LATER THAN 2 p.m.., Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at alngpao@mail.mil or call Lt. Col. Shannon Hancock at (334)306-4559. The event is at a military facility with access-controlled entrance; therefore, media must RSVP ahead of time. Alabama National Guard personnel will be available for interviews. Student interviews will have to be coordinated with their assigned school and their parents.
