ACEC/PA statement on the release of the Governor's Transportation Funding Advisory Commission Report

HARRISBURG, PA (08/01/2011)(readMedia)-- American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania (ACEC/PA) Executive Vice President Eric G. Madden today issued the following statement on the release of Governor Tom Corbett's Transportation Funding Advisory Commission Report:

"ACEC/PA applauds the efforts of the Commission in providing a blueprint for financing the daunting infrastructure needs in Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth's transportation network has shouldered the burden of sustaining our economic and population growth based on a system that was built well over 50 years ago. It is time that the public was offered a real solution to the long-term needs of keeping our people and economy moving forward.

This report delivers a true comprehensive funding plan that will enhance our safety, bolster our economy and improve our overall quality of life. We encourage the Governor and the members of the General Assembly to give these recommendations serious consideration in the fall."
