Alabama National Guard and Alabama Department of Education Partner to Offer Opportunities to High School Students

Montgomery, AL (02/28/2017)-- The Alabama National Guard 22nd Recruiting and Retention Battalion in collaboration with Alabama Army National Guard units and the Alabama Department of Education will conduct Citizen Soldier Career Expositions at two locations this week. These will be one day events at each Career Technical Center or National Guard armory. The 22nd Recruiting and Retention Battalion recruiters will be present at each location and local units will provide personnel and equipment to showcase their capabilities and answer any questions that high school students may have about the Soldiers job. The first event will be held at the Montgomery, Alabama Career Technical Center on March 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the second event will be held in Athens, Alabama on March 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Area high school students will attend the expositions to explore career opportunities in the Alabama Army National Guard. This event is not open to the general public and is only for the invited high school students in the area of each event and local city and government officials. We would like to take these two opportunities to invite media outlets to attend and see what the Alabama National Guard has to offer. Additional events will be held in the future at Rainsville, Tuscaloosa and Dothan, Alabama, so please watch for the media advisory. Please see the details below for the events on March 1 and 2.
