PEORIA , IL (03/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Spc. Alec Boehm of Antioch, with the 709th Area Support Medical Company in Peoria was promoted to the rank of sergeant March 17 at the Illinois Army National armory in Peoria.

Boehm enlisted into the Illinois National Guard in 2005. He served overseas for one month in Guatemala in 2010 had deployed twice once to Kuwait in 2007 to 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and later to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn from January to November in 2011.
