Adam Conner of Facebook to Speak at Business Council Technology Roundtable

Discussion will focus on technology and government

ALBANY, NY (05/07/2013)(readMedia)-- Adam Conner, who oversees public policy for Facebook in Washington, DC, will discuss how social media platforms are changing how government entities interact with constituents at the next Business Council Technology Roundtable May 22 in Albany.

Social media applications such as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace are changing every aspect of government: how it operates, how it connects with citizens, and how it delivers services. This session will focus on how state governments are using social networks to inform the public of emergencies, child protection, weather alerts, and policy developments.

Conner has helped lead Facebook's Politics, Government, and Elections team for the last six years. He speaks regularly on these issues.

The Business Council Technology Roundtable is a luncheon seminar series that serves as a resource for members and the greater business community in New York State. Sessions feature topics such as state and federal policies, events, other industry developments, and conclude with an open discussion forum.
