Alabama National Guard Military Police unit returns from deployment

MONTGOMERY, AL (11/14/2013)(readMedia)-- The Alabama Army National Guard's 128th Military Police Company, out of Athens, is returning from active duty after more than 10 months of supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

The 128th will have a welcome home ceremony in Huntsville at the National Guard Armory, 2499 Johnson Road SW, at 2 p.m., Nov. 16, 2013.

The 128th deployed in January 2013 to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The 128th provided security forces support to units based there.

The Alabama National Guard has called more than 21,000 personnel to active duty since 9/11 and remains a top contributor among the nation's National Guard.
