American Marketing Association Issues 2008 Call For Entries For Mark Of Excellence Awards Competition
Capital Region Chapter’s Premier Marketing Competition Recognizes Regional Creative Campaigns

ALBANY, NY (06/12/2008)(readMedia)-- The New York Capital Region chapter of the American Marketing Association NYCRAMA) is now accepting entries for its 14th Annual Mark of Excellence Awards competition.
The AMA’s Mark of Excellence program recognizes highly effective marketing campaigns and initiatives from companies of all sizes, agencies, organizations and educational institutions within the Capital Region and Tech Valley. This year’s honorees will be announced at NYCRAMA’s annual Mark of Excellence Awards Dinner on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at the Albany Marriott, Wolf Road.
"Each year, we look forward to spotlighting and rewarding the exceptional efforts of fellow marketers who’ve combined creativity, strategy and great execution to deliver results for their clients and organizations," said Courtney Remington, AMA chapter president. "It will be my great pleasure to cheer them on as they accept the prestigious Mark of Excellence Awards this October. Their achievements inspire us all."
In addition to recognizing the area’s outstanding results-driven marketing campaigns of the past year, the chapter will name a "Marketer of Excellence," an individual whose marketing efforts have had a tremendous effect on the Capital Region. Previous year’s recipients include: E. Kristen Frederick, president and CEO, The Community Foundation for the Capital Region; Dr. Alan Chartock, president and CEO of WAMC Northeast Public Radio; former Times Union Marketing Director Robert Provost; Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno; Lyn Taylor, president of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce; and Kelly Lovell, former president /CEO of the Center for Economic Growth.
"In years past, we’ve seen some pretty extraordinary folks named Marketer of Excellence. I expect this year to be no different. The Capital Region is very fortunate to be home to so many talented and dedicated individuals whose vision and commitment have truly improved the quality of life and work in our community," added Courtney Remington.
The Call for Entries deadline is Monday, June 23, 2008, at 5:00 PM. Entrants are asked to complete and submit a brief of effectiveness online at www.nymarketing.org/moe. Finalists will be chosen and required to provide creative elements from their campaigns for a second round of judging. Judging will be completed by a panel of distinguished marketing executives from across the nation. Entries are judged on creativity and results achieved by the campaigns.
