American Red Cross Hosts “Community that Cares” Blood Drive
Residents Urged to Give Blood to Show They Care by Boosting Regional Blood Supplies

The American Red Cross New York-Penn Blood Services Region will host a special “Community That Cares” blood drive Thursday, June 12, Constellation Energy EOF Facility, 1255 Research Forest, Macedon, from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. “A Community That Cares” blood drive is a Red Cross initiative, which provides the opportunity for various community groups to come together for a common, larger blood drive. The purpose of the drive to help boost regional blood supplies by enlisting community support particularly during the summer months when blood inventories can be at their lowest.
All presenting donors will receive tee-shirts and will be eligible to win one of five IPod Shuffles, courtesy of Constellation Energy. In addition, all presenting donors will be eligible to win one of four $250.00 gas cards. The drawing for the gas cards will be held throughout the Region on Friday, July 11. All current and new donors are strongly urged to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.DonateBloodNow.org to schedule an appointment. Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Sixteen-year-olds may donate blood provided they bring an original signed an Informed Parental Consent for a 16-Year-Old to Donate Whole Blood to the blood drive.
