Amy Bergstraesser of Rhinebeck Earns Academic Recognition at Skidmore College

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (07/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Amy Bergstraesser, a member of the Class of 2011 at Skidmore College, earned academic recognition at the college this spring.

She is the daughter of Lynn Bergstraesser of Rhinebeck and Ed Bergstraesser.

Bergstraesser earned a B.A. degree cum laude at Skidmore's 100th commencement. She also received high honors for academic work completed during the spring semester.

During her Skidmore career, Bergstraesser was elected to membership in Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. She also was selected for a Levine Internship Award during the summer of 2010. Offered on a competitive basis, the awards support Skidmore students who wish to undertake government internships in fields related to the practice of American government, politics, and/or law. The awards are named in honor of a former Skidmore government professor.

Founded in 1903, Skidmore College is a coeducational, liberal arts college with an enrollment of approximately 2,400 students. The college grants the bachelor's degree in some 60 majors, including both traditional liberal arts disciplines and preprofessional programs. Skidmore also awards the master of arts in liberal studies degree.
