DES MOINES, IA (05/13/2015)(readMedia)-- Erin Brasser, a junior majoring in English and Health Education at Northwestern College in Orange City received a Scholarship for Future Educators from the Iowa State Education Association (ISEA). Erin is the daughter of Kevin and Karen Brasser who are ISEA members from the South O'Brien Education Association in the South O'Brien Community School District.
The ISEA offers scholarships to helps sons or daughters of association members become teachers. Applicants must have completed 60 semester hours (or equivalent) or they must be considered a junior at the college or university in which they are enrolled.
"Erin is an outstanding student and will be a tremendous addition to the teaching profession," said Tammy Wawro, president of the ISEA. Growing up in a family of teachers, it comes naturally to her. Erin embodies the best of our profession in her enthusiasm, passion, and commitment; combined with her clear determination to succeed. We are delighted to be able to award her our Scholarship for Future Educators and hope it will help lighten her financial burden so she can continue to focus on her career," added Wawro.
