Associated General Contractors of NYS Announces 2009 Build New York Awards
ALBANY, NY (08/10/2009)(readMedia)-- The Associated General Contractors of New York State (AGC NYS) is pleased to announce the winning entries in its eighteenth annual Build New York Awards competition, which is held to honor New York construction projects.
LeChase Construction Services, LLC (Rochester) - Oswego School District Public Library, Oswego
Skanska USA Building Inc. (New York City) - The Brooklyn Children's Museum, Brooklyn
Turner Construction Company (Albany) - Experimental Media & Performing Arts Center, Troy
Honorable Mention: Pizzagalli Construction Company (S. Burlington, VT) - Lake Placid Lodge Rebuild, Lake Placid.
"Risk-taking constructors leading the way with excellent project management and good safety experience continue to provide owners with the quality projects they seek," Jeffrey J. Zogg, CEO of the AGC NYS, said. "They are the key to success in today's thriving construction industry," he added.
The Build New York Award winners are selected based on outstanding managing skills, imagination, overcoming challenging and unusual circumstances, scheduling accomplishments and project innovation by the contractor/manager and the entire project team including the project owner, architect, subcontractors and suppliers. All project entries were reviewed and judged by a 14-member jury.
The winners will be honored at a gala awards presentation this fall.
The AGC NYS represents about 250 general contractors engaged in public and private construction throughout New York State, and is the New York Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America.
