Barson Joins The Business Council

ALBANY, NY (06/26/2012)(readMedia)-- Michelle Naomi Barson has joined The Business Council of New York State, Inc. as the manager of membership recruitment and retention. In this role she will foster relationships with small and mid-sized companies across the state to enhance and expand membership in all sectors.

"We are excited to have someone with Michelle's talents and enthusiasm join our membership team," said Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council. "Her experience in membership development and knowledge of chamber activities will serve our members well in her new role."

Barson brings to The Business Council more than seven years of experience in membership, marketing and media sales. Most recently, Barson worked as a membership and media sales representative at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she helped businesses increase their exposure in the marketplace by promoting their products and services. Prior to that she worked as a membership development officer at First New York Federal Credit Union, and as an account executive for Fox 23-TV in Albany.

Michelle holds a Bachelor's degree from Ohio University, E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and is currently working on her Master's degree in Integrated Marketing Communications.

She resides with her husband in Albany and is an active volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.
