Belvidere Native enlists in Illinois Army National Guard

SPRINGFIELD, IL (02/07/2018) (readMedia)-- Springfield, Ill. – Pvt. Autumn Harnois, of Belvidere, Illinois, was sworn into the Illinois Army National Guard Jan. 31, at the Chicago Military Entrance Processing Station.

Harnois enlisted as an 88M, Motor Transport Operator, and is assigned Company C, Recruit Sustainment Program in Machesney Park, Illinois.

Upon completion of her initial training, Harnois will be assigned to the 1244th Transportation Company.

Harnois is a 2017 graduate of Belvidere North High School, Belvidere, Illinois.

After successfully completing her training, Harnois will be eligible for the Illinois National Guard Grant, which pays 100 percent of college tuition while she works as a full-time student and a part-time Soldier. She will also be eligible for the Select Reserve G.I. Bill and federal tuition assistance.

Sgt. Jose Flores of Company C, congratulated Harnois and welcomed her into the Illinois Army National Guard.
