ST. PAUL, MN (10/18/2012)(readMedia)-- Tayler Duncan, a resident of Brookings, S.D., has been cast in Concordia University, St. Paul's fall production of the Broadway musical The Robber Bridegroom. Duncan, a freshman double-majoring in majoring in communications and literature arts, will be playing the role of Airie, the mute sister of resident fool Goat, who trades her to a duo of law-breaking brothers.
Set in eighteenth-century Mississippi, The Robber Bridegroom is an unconventional love story revolving around Jamie Lockhart, a devilish local criminal, and his quest to win the heart of Rosamund, the daughter of a wealthy plantation owner. Noted for its unique bluegrass score, The Robber Bridegroom is a boisterous celebration of country shenanigans featuring an evil stepmother, an animated severed head, and a gaggle of inept henchmen.
The Robber Bridegroom will be showing Oct. 25-28 at Concordia's E.M. Pearson Theatre. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m., Oct. 25-26 and 27. There is a 2 p.m. matinee showing on Oct. 28. Tickets can be purchased online at www.csp.edu/tickets.
