Brooklyn Dentists to Offer Free Oral Health Screenings at July 29 Cyclones Game

BROOKLYN, NY (07/27/2009)(readMedia)-- Dentists from the Second District Dental Society will be offering free oral health screenings for children from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at KeySpan Park on Wednesday, July 29 in advance of the game between the Brooklyn Cyclones and their cross-town rival, the Staten Island Yankees. Screenings will be conducted in the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures dental van at the stadium entrance. Oral health care information and dental health kits will be offered to children who are screened. Oral health information will be available inside the stadium.

"Screenings are painless and quick, and we look forward to sharing the message that we can all keep our teeth a lifetime, but only if we take care of them," said Dr. Richard L. Oshrain, president of the Second District Dental Society.

The Second District Dental Society, founded in 1868, represents nearly 1,500 dentists in Brooklyn and Staten Island. It is a local chapter of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. This program is one in a series of community outreach efforts the society sponsors annually.
