ALBANY, NY (05/22/2012)(readMedia)-- The Business Council of New York State, Inc. will showcase its new "Made In New York" website during the Chamber Executive Summit at The Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, New York, on June 8.
The highly interactive website highlights and promotes Business Council member companies in New York State and the products and services they make and provide. The business advocacy group believes the web site will become the go to site for consumers seeking to buy in New York.
"By buying products and services sold by New York companies consumers are actively helping to create jobs and strengthen our economy," said Heather Briccetti, president and CEO of The Business Council. "The Made in New York web site is a terrific way to highlight and promote the great companies that are the backbone of the state's economy."
New York Gaming Association president Jim Featherstonaugh will also make a presentation at the Summit. He will speak to members about how enhanced casino gaming will provide additional revenue for the state, and help local governments as they recover from the recession.
Chamber of commerce representatives will also learn how they can improve their use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Albany-based Gramercy Communications will hold a forum called "Social Media and Your Chamber." Company founder Tom Nardacci, Gramercy vice-president Eric Wohlleber and Sara Wallace of Destiny USA will discuss techniques for improved messaging and interaction with members.
"Our Chamber members play a key role in getting the word out on the issues that matter most to New Yorkers," said Briccetti. "The business community knows that public policy and elections directly impact economic growth and jobs, and Chambers are very effective in keeping members up to date with important information."
