ALBANY, NY (07/08/2009)(readMedia)-- Laurie Baker, senior vice president and COO of The Summit Federal Credit Union, was elected secretary of the Credit Union Association of New York's board of directors during the Association's Annual Meeting held recently in Albany, NY.

Baker has worked in the credit union industry for nearly 20 years, the last 14 at The Summit FCU. During that time, she has held positions in the area of lending, operations, human resources and sales and marketing. Baker joined the Association's board in 2007 and has the distinction of being the only non-CEO member. She is also president of the Association's Rochester Chapter Council.

The Credit Union Association of New York has served as the trade association for the state's credit unions for 92 years. It is the fourth largest association in the country.
