CUANY rebrands as New York Credit Union Association
NYCUA's new logo, look and tagline coincide with launch of new website
(Albany, N.Y.) – Beginning today, the Credit Union Association of New York will officially become known as the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA). The name change is part of an overall branding update that also includes a new logo, tagline and website, www.nycua.org, which was launched earlier today.
"After months of planning, the New York Credit Union Association is excited to unveil our succinct, new name, modernized logo, and an updated tagline-"strength in members"-that clearly conveys the overall credit union philosophy," said NYCUA President and CEO William J. Mellin.
The NYCUA website, which reflects the clean and concise look of the new NYCUA logo, contains numerous updates and improvements. Notably, the site contains a detailed history of the credit union movement in New York.
"By placing 'New York' first, we directly communicate what state we represent," said Board Chair Laurie Baker, chief operating officer of The Summit Federal Credit Union. "We believe the new name creates a stronger, more independent identity for the Association, and it allows us to support a national movement towards state-focused branding."
The New York Credit Union Foundation, the charitable arm of the New York credit union movement, also launched a new logo and website, www.nycuf.org, as part of the branding update.
The New York Credit Union Association has served as the trade association for the state's credit unions for 97 years. With more than 5 million memberships, New York credit union assets total more than $67 billion. To learn more about NYCUA, visit www.nycua.org.
